The long drive to Southwell on Thursday and the agonising wait while course officials held an inspection on Friday morning, was all made a lot easier after Camile won the visitsouthwell.com Mares Handicap Hurdle in convincing style (20 lengths) under Alain Cawley.
We doubled up the trip by taking a galloper for a spin round the all-weather track as well. So all-in-all, it was a very worthwhile trip.
Great for the team to get a winner as the runners are drying up a bit now that the flat season is over – it would help some of the NH horses if the ground dried up a bit too!
