The weather has been great this week. It has been sunny every day with temperatures around 16 degrees! I am certainly not complaining! We are all riding out in t-shirts. Here’s hoping we have a nice summer like this! We have had a quieter week on the racing front with no runners, however we have been kept busy. It was workday yesterday for the horses. Lots of them were worked round the grass which was great to get back to. We also got this years 2yo’s round the grass for the first time which was fantastic. They were shown the ropes by Roy on PEARL WARRIOR and myself on EQUIDAE. The staff rode them well and it was certainly an exciting video for their owners to see!
Pictured below in the correct order is:
EQUIDAE, PADDY THE SQUIRE, SUTUE ALSHAMS, WEE FAT MAC, HOUR BY HOUR. Some new and upcoming faces for this season!
We were also joined yesterday by Emma Sayer from the Scottish Racing Academy who was accompanied by some students from Annan Academy who got an insight into the daily running of a racing yard. Emma gave them all lots of information, and they watched the horses work up the gallops. Hopefully, everyone enjoyed their visit to the yard!
Today we had RAVENSCRAIG CASTLE and HAVEYOUMISSEDME away for a racecourse gallop. This is exactly what they needed before their upcoming entries over the next month! Ailsa and I headed with them. They both worked well. I am really looking forward to the season ahead with these two! They both ran some crackers last year.
We have no runners today, but we have 1 runner heading to Musselburgh tomorrow. It will be PURE SURF’s first run under the colours of her new owners, Mrs C Brown, and Mr Michael Wares. Wishing them the best of luck and here’s hoping for a good run!
