Another cracking day, the sun is shining although I have everything crossed for rain at Hamilton! Wednesday is work day for the horses so I’m watching work round the grass gallop before going racing.
Everyone is on a high from the euphoria of TRICORN’s four-timer at Thirsk yesterday. Another great ride from Andrew Mullen. A massive thanks to his work rider, Max, who rides him at home every day and has found the key to this horse. I am thrilled for his Owners Lady O’Reilly, John Hames & Tommy Dorman. They’ve been able to attend his last 2 wins which has made it all the more special. Credit to Baker McVeigh & Ark Vets too who have helped make him a happier horse.
We have a busy day racing ahead of us with 5 runners at Hamilton, consisting of NOVAK, REELY BONNIE, HAVANA PARTY, MACMERRY JIM and JUMP THE GUN. My apprentice, Shannon Watts will be riding Macmerry Jim today in the 3.15pm, going head to head with Andrew Mullen on Havana Party. Havana Party and Jump the Gun are both running in the Lets Be Lucky colours and as many as allowed from the syndicate will be in attendance so a good result would be handy! Havana Party is training on well as a 3yo so I have high hopes for him. It is Novak’s 2nd run of his career today so I am confident he will have improved following his debut.
