So we’ve reached the end of another week and quite a successful one at that.
We had a minor disaster at Carlisle yesterday whereby JOYOUS DAYS bolted down to the start so her race was run. I vented my frustrations with The Stewards as I had no idea and really felt I should’ve been contacted as I’d have made her a non runner. On a more positive note, WIGANESE ran a blinder. At one point he looked the winner. He rolled about a wee bit in front but will progress again from this. I think he would benefit from gelding.
Back to Carlisle today with two runners: CLEARANCE and HAVANA GO. Clearance ran well first time out this season and is in good order at home. I don’t want too much rain for him. Havana is having his first start this year but has done plenty at home so should be in the shake up. EQUIDAE goes to Haydock and has every chance as well. I’d be happy if the heavens opened above Haydock before his race.
We have a busy Saturday at Cartmel, Catterick and Chester. Four runners: SHE’SASUPERMACK, BLOW BY BLOW, MACMERRY JIM and NAKEETA. They’re all in good form and are well placed.
I believe there’s more rain forecast today then we’re in for a lovely weekend. That should bring in the crowds to Cartmel.
Pictured on the gallop yesterday are HOPEDALE (Ericka), GURKHALI GIRL (Shannon) and HI MEH DARLING (Hannah).
