We have a ground frost this morning! Beautiful views across the Solway to snow covered hills but it’s cold!
LORD CONDI delivered another fine effort at Kelso yesterday to finish 2nd. It’s a while since I’ve had Brian Hughes on top. He gave him an excellent, well timed Hughes ride but unfortunately the winner had well over a stone in hand! He’s come out of his race well. This is the case with ANIMORE too. We have a wee hiccup to rectify with her and she’ll be back to her Bangor winning ways of 2020 for sure.
I worked several horses round the grass before i set off for Kelso yesterday. They all pleased me. We have 7 entries on Saturday at 3 meetings and 10 on Tuesday, they are all on target.
Our physio is in this morning to give a dozen or so of the team the once over. It’s a crucial part of their routine. The back end of a horse is the engine and if that or their back is wrong, you ain’t gona be winning any races!
The going across the country is very variable. Fortunately most tracks have had a good amount of rain which is making declaration decisions easier!
We’ve a quieter day on the gallops this morning and no runners. A breather before a very busy few days ahead.
