Saturday was a busy day at Hetland Hill. All of the horses were warmed up thoroughly ahead of doing some work on the grass. The stalls were moved onto the grass on Friday evening ahead of work day so that we could get all of the flat horses through them alongside their piece of work. I was happy with how they worked and we got plenty of good videos for their owners. Pictured below is it not going so well for MERRICOURT and Matthew King. MERRICOURT proceeded to work round the grass albeit without his rider and trot merrily home! Thankfully horse and rider were no worse for it!!!😂
I was delighted with AFTER JOHN who ran a cracker on Saturday at Thirsk to get a fantastic 2nd for his owners, Lady Jouse Partnership. This was his first run at IJR; and one we are very happy with! He most certainly will improve from that. A great ride from Jamie Gormley! I am absolutely delighted for his owners.
Today we are heading to Pontefract with out first 2yo runner of the year! It is very exciting to be at this stage with them now. There is a handful of them running their first races this week. I am really looking forward to seeing how he runs! Wishing his owners the best of luck:
