Plenty rain for an hour or so last night. More in Yorkshire I believe!
Andrew Mullen and Conor O’farrell are in this morning.
The ground at York has gone good to soft, which was to be expected. It shouldn’t alter PEARL WARRIOR’s chances in the 4.50pm today.
STAGE POWER made a pleasing debut for the yard at Ayr last night. The ground was quick but safe. He didn’t mind it. He has an exciting future with us under both codes.
I’ve put a line through TOSHACK’s run. I think the ground did affect her. She didn’t let herself down on it all and it was a bit of a backwards step from her debut for us. She’s come out of the race well thankfully and will run in another fortnight or so on softer ground.
I didn’t run HAVANA GO. He’s a keen, hard pulling character that does want it soft. As he wasn’t due to run until after 8pm, I was hopeful of an early evening downpour so took him anyway. That didn’t materialise, not in Ayrshire anyway. Better safe than sorry.
We don’t have any runners at Perth this evening (3 declared for Thursday) however, Ailsa rides her own FORTUNES HIDING (pictured) in the Hunter Chase at 7.40pm. The partnership have benefited from a few runs and good results in Point To Points this spring, we wish them well this evening, we’ll be shouting them home!
