A Frosty Week!

Hello from a frosty Hetlandhill! Fortunately we don’t have snow…yet! Both the grass and the all weather gallops are frozen. We are able to keep the horses going in the indoor school but those in work are getting a bit too fresh now. Any national hunt horses with Christmas/NY entries are being transported to James Ewart’s gallops where we’re able to get a bit more work into them. Team IJR are doing a sterling job gritting & defrosting water drinkers or carrying umpteen buckets.

Our last runner and winner was ACONCAGUA MOUNTAIN at Wolverhampton on Monday, ridden by Andrew Mullen. It made a long day after 3 inspections, very worthwhile, especially for Kayleigh who was doing the driving. He is currently for sale to stay in the yard. This 3 time winner is having a winter break on the back of 2 wins on the all weather. Currently off a mark of 54, this 4yo Requinto gelding will be campaigned on the turf next season and is soon to be in the winners enclosure again. For more information please email [email protected]

We hope to be back on the all weather again on Tuesday with 1 runner at Newcastle and 2 at Southwell ahead of a day of jumping at Ayr on Thursday. Hopefully the ground will thaw out soon so that we can get back to the tracks!
