A brilliant afternoon yesterday spent at Hamilton with a double thanks to two of the yards resident red heads, HAVANA PARTY and KATS BOB. It was nice to get some form back after a bit of a dry spell. The form on the flat backs up our win on Sunday at Kelso thanks to Ray Anderson Green’s, EXIT TO WHERE. Pictured below is Dom with his first IJR winner, HAVANA PARTY.
HAVANA PARTY won the 3.11pm under Clifford Lee for owners, Lets Be Lucky Racing. A fantastic run where he came from the back of the field and led for the final furlong. A great ride and a brilliant result for his owners. We were delighted. BASHFUL got a very respectable 2nd in the same race under Andrew Mullen for Lycett Racing. A good 1, 2 result! KATS BOB then ran a cracker in the 4.20pm to win under Andrew Mullen for his owners, Colin and Tommy Dorman. His second win at Hamilton this year! A great ride from Andrew and another good result for his owners. We also picked up some 5th’s courtesy of SPREZZATURA, KAZE WO ATSUMETE and THE GLOAMING, as well as a 6th for KRAKEN FLORIDA, 8th for ROSE BANDIT and 9th for WEE FAT MAC. A great day for the team who deserve these wins for all of the hard work they put in! Well done to them all.

It was a very poignant day as while we were celebrating a double at Hamilton, in Jedburgh, the life of our long time owner, Mr Michael Wares was being celebrated. Best known at Hetland for carrying the colours of SHE’SASUPERMACK. Michael supported IJR since I trained point to pointers at Bonchester Bridge. As I said on racing tv, we’d like to dedicated this double to Michael and say cheers to a life well lived. He is pictured below after SHE’SASUPERMACK’s last win at Ayr on 1st January 2022 with Conor in his lucky colours. Happy memories!
