A sunny start and already 8 degrees warmer than this time last week!
All horses have come out of Catterick well. EQUIDAE never runs a bad race. Apprentice races are tricky as you never know how they are going to work out. Shannon did well to break sharp with him and have him up there as I asked.
Today we are at Ayr, I have 4 intended runners but remarkably the ground is still good to firm so I may not run them all. It’s an evening meeting and a lot can change in 12 hours!
I’m looking forward to The Dante Festival at York this week. I love York. Obviously it has good memories of a very prestigious win there but there’s other factors that appeal too. The Owners, horses and Staff are looked after very well. The track is always in pristine condition. The calibre of racing offered is fantastic. It suits a lot of my horses. We start the week with The Owners Group PEARL WARRIOR on Wednesday in the Conundrum Hr Consulting Handicap over 1m 3f with Andrew Mullen on board. He ran a great race first time out for us at Ayr 10 days ago and we’re hoping to build on that today.
