Delighted with the weekend

I’m delighted with the way the weekend has panned out.

We kicked off with a winner at Ripon on Friday night in the way of GET BOOSTING (The Strattonites) in the 5f Handicap, the feature race on the card. Andrew Mullen gave him a great ride.

NAKEETA (Alex & Janet Card) had his first start of the season over 2m with Jamie on board.  He always takes a race to get him spot on and to date, this was his best first run of any season. He stayed on gamely finishing 4th and Jamie looked after him when tiring.  He definitely showed he’s more than happy racing for another season at least.

On Saturday we were at Hexham and Thirsk under both codes. BLOW BY BLOW (The Strattonites) ran a blinder in the mud at Hexham to finish a staying on 2nd under Conor O’farrell.  What a revival from a lovely big horse who appears to be enjoying his racing.

KRAKEN POWER (Jimmy & Scott Fyffe) was the best of them at Thirsk.  Another having his first run this season, he finished 3rd beaten only 4 lengths over 6f.

No racing on Sunday but it was a busy day with Owners.  Owners often see more of their horses at home than they do at the racecourse.  It’s a great opportunity to get pictures up close and alongside their horses too.  That doesn’t often happen unless you’re lucky enough to be in the winners enclosure.

Today we are at Catterick where we run: TOMILY, KINGS CREEK and EQUIDAE.  Jamie rides the first two and Shannon claims 8lb in the 5pm Apprentice Handicap over 7f on EQUIDAE.  The ground has gone soft in North Yorkshire which will suit them all.

We have for sale our 2017 3.5T Equitrek Lorry.  Please contact the office for more information.
