A sun splitting the sky start

A sun splitting the sky start to Monday. Although -5 with a dusting of snow!

Wasn’t the Grand National brilliant?  There’s just no stopping the De Bromhead/Blackmore combination!  The way Rachael Blackmore reads a race and is so tactical is poetry.  It doesn’t matter if it’s 2m or 4, a maiden or a listed, making all or dropping in!  Gender is irrelevant it’s the talent she has that shines through!

Conor took a nasty spill in the National, I was relieved to speak to him on Saturday night.  He took a good kicking but came out bumped and bruised.

He rode for Mrs Tullie and I at Kelso yesterday.  Tokaramore was in a very hot handicap chase and ran as Ailie and I had hoped and expected.  Animore in the 2m 2f Handicap Hurdle fared much better and finished 4th.  Approaching the last it could’ve gone to any one of the them.  Four of them jumped in line.  The “More Family” are definitely stayers and I’m now wondering if on good ground we need to step her up a bit…

It’s Scottish Grand National week where we’re likely to have 5 or 6 runners over the two days.   The Saturday card has now been switched to Sunday 18th out of respect for Prince Philip’s funeral.  Our entries are mostly made up of Donna & Dave Armstrong’s grey boys, other notable names feature too, it’s an exciting week!  The confirmation stage for the Coral Scottish Champion Hurdle and The Coral Scottish Grand National close today so we’ll have a better idea by 1pm which horses get in and which don’t.

We are also at Redcar, Newcastle, Cheltenham and Ripon this week.

We start the week at Redcar today with Tricorn in the 1m 2f Class 5 Handicap.  Midge Mullen rides.
