Dry again but we’ve had showers. Things are starting to green up.
The horses at grass are rugged up at night as it’s cool.
Mixed results yesterday. A 3rd and 3x 4th’s from 8 runners but still seeking the illusive winner!
Lots of positives to take from the day and some exciting horses than will undoubtedly come on for their seasonal/racing debuts.
We’re back up at Ayr this evening with 4 runners. Mrs Macdonald’s NUBOUGH and TOSHACK for the racing club are both having their first runs of the season. Nubough is in good order and I have high hopes for him. Toshack is new to me, I like her but we’re still getting to know her. We also run Merricourt and Zabeel Star who have both run well on the all-weather at Newcastle and are capable of building on that form.
Kayleigh, Ericka and Daisy are in attendance today.
I will oversee the mornings’ work then head up in the car with Andrew Mullen.
