Morning and welcome

Morning and welcome to another week at IJR.

While things aren’t really going my way at the moment, I’m working harder than ever.  My name is down for 5 lots today and I won’t miss a stride a horse takes on the woodchip.  As you can see the work on the gallop is going well. Horses are scoping clean. Blood results are as you’d want/expect. I’m working closely with my Feed Manager and Vets and getting good feedback from my staff after exercise.   I’m placing my horses well but I’m a bit short of luck and another winner!  Sometimes in life, you make your own luck! There’s no better man to use as an example than Barney Curley.  The legendary punter certainly needed a bit of luck on his side in June 1975!  I was saddened when I read of his passing last night, he is another notable name lost from the world of racing but will forever be remembered for his infamous Yellow Sam coup.

We are busy this week with what looks like a third of the yard entered up!  Heavy showers have made the ground very soft at most tracks now.  This will play a big part when declaring horses that have multiple entries.

IJR merchandise goes on sale this week.  We are starting off by offering bobble hats, caps and gilets.  Please contact [email protected] for more information.”
