I was pleased with Ailsa McClung’s ride at Newcastle yesterday, her first as my new amateur jockey. Ailsa is hoping to ride as a Lady Amateur this summer under both codes. She has more to learn in the stalls but she followed my instructions and gave Flood Defence a nice ride. She’ll do well if she sticks in.
Thursday is a quieter day on the gallops. Conor popped in again which was unexpected. We will school Cool Mix, Dino Boy & Voix Du Reve in preparation for Ayr.
After a morning at IJR, Conor is making for Sedgefield Friday and Aintree Saturday. He has a ride in the Grand National for David Pipe…Becher Handicap Chase Winner from December, Vieux Lion Rouge. We wish him a safe spin round.
